Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Updated: May 25, 2020

Sexual Assault Awareness Month

As the City of Chicago residents are being required to shelter in place, we want to make sure we offer resources for individuals that may be experiencing or are threat of physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. Here are a few resources that can be accessed by phone via conversation or text.

Need help?

Call 800-656-HOPE (4673) to be connected with a trained staff member from a sexual assault service provider in your area.

How does it work?

When you call 800-656-HOPE (4673), you'll be routed to a local RAINN affiliate organization based on the first six digits of your phone number. Cell phone callers have the option to enter the ZIP code of their current location to more accurately locate the nearest sexual assault service provider.

COVID-19 and Domestic Violence

Contact the Network: Advocating Against Domestic Violence: (877)863-63 38, The Illinois-based Domestic Violence Hotline 24/7, Call or Text for resources, support, and maintaining your well-being during this time.

National Domestic Violence Hotline Resource

While people are encouraged to stay at home, you may feel isolated from your friends and family. Even if you are isolated, try to maintain social connections online or over the phone, if it is safe to do so, and try to stick to your daily routines as much as possible.

For any victims and survivors who need support, we are here for you, 24/7. Call 1-800-799-7233 or 1-800-787-3224 for TTY, or if you're unable to speak safely, you can log onto thehotline.org or text LOVEIS to 22522
