It is with immense sadness that we inform our Affinity family of the passing of Takeia R. Johnson.
Takeia has been a valued member of the Affinity community for several years. She served as Treasurer on the Affinity’s Board of Directors from 2012 through 2014. Notably, Takeia authored Affinity’s “brown paper” on the impact of immigration policy on same sex couples, which resulted in our ability to secure financial funding and stability during a very challenging time for the organization. While our hearts are heavy because of this loss, we are reminded that Takeia’s light and radiance were a blessing to all who knew and loved her. Her smile, wit, and willingness to always be of service to others will forever be cherished. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who were fortunate enough to be impacted by Takeia’s life and loving spirit, especially her friends and family.
